myStockPlan.com Inc. ("myStockPlan" or "we"), the publisher of myStockOptions.com and myCompanyStock.com (separately or together "the website" or "the site"), is committed to having one of the strictest privacy policies of any personal-finance and wealth-management website. Below is a discussion of our privacy practices, modeled after the format suggested by the TRUSTe.org Privacy Program. By accessing myCompanyStock.com and/or receiving reports produced by their advisors from myStockOptions.com, financial advisors' clients who use myCompanyStock.com and/or who receive such content or reports from financial advisors also agree to the terms below.
Our entire registration form is encrypted using secure socket layers (SSL) and 128-bit encryption from Thawte. While on the registration, My Account, and myRecords pages, the "lock" icon on the bottom of browsers such as Microsoft Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator becomes locked, as opposed to unlocked or open when you are just "surfing." To learn more about SSL, visit the Thawte website.
In addition to using SSL encryption to protect sensitive information on line, we also do everything in our power to protect user information off line. All our users' information, not just the information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, our editorial staff to develop article ideas) are granted access to information about myStockOption.com users. All employees and independent contractors are kept up to date on our security and privacy practices. Finally, the servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a highly secure environment.
If you have any questions about the security at our site, please send email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
COLLECTION AND USE OF INFORMATION. To use certain tools and features that we have, you provide information at several different points on the site. myStockPlan.com, Inc., is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. We will not sell or rent to third parties your individual personal data or your clients' individual personal data, or otherwise share any personal information, without your authorization. However, if you subscribe to premium access through a bulk membership purchased by your company, or through a discount subsidized by your company, we may need to give the company the names (and/or email addresses) of its employees who have registered and/or subscribed at myStockOptions.com so that the company can ensure the appropriate employees are subscribing and/or renewing.
REGISTRATION. In order to use this site, you must first complete the brief registration form. During registration you are required to give certain contact information (such as name and email address). This information is used to contact you about new services and changes on our site, for announcements from sponsors that must go through us (you will never receive any material directly from a sponsor), and for email newsletters. Our registration page clearly allows you to choose whether you wish to receive any or all of this email.
We need your US state of residence at the time of registration so that you can use the automatic withholding calculation for state taxes that is part of the interactive tools on the site. We would like to know your company so that we can see which companies and industries our users work in. Employees in different industries have varying experiences, uses, and concerns related to stock compensation. This will help us focus our original content and tools to best meet our users' needs.
NO PERSONAL FINANCIAL INFORMATION NEEDED TO USE THE WEBSITE. We do not require any demographic information (such as income level) or unique identifiers (such as Social Security number). To use myRecords, you must enter information about your stock grants or your clients' stock grants. Entering this information will make the other site tools easier to use to their maximum advantage. Grant information needs to be entered only once: the data will be securely stored on our servers. Please remember that we do not share with anyone or any organization the individual personal data of site-users or their clients.
PREMIUM MEMBERSHIP AND AUTOMATIC RENEWAL OF SUBSCRIPTIONS. To subscribe to Premium Membership or MSO Pro Membership at myStockOptions.com, you need to provide credit-card information. It is provided to third parties only to verify and complete the transaction.
Any subscription to myStockOptions.com begins immediately after you pay the appropriate fee with a credit card over our secure server. myStockOptions.com will automatically renew your subscription (except one-day Premium Memberships) when it expires unless you cancel automatic renewal by selecting the appropriate renewal choice in My Account at any time during your subscription.
To automatically renew your subscription, myStockOptions.com will retain your credit-card data after the initial transaction and charge your credit card for the appropriate amount at the time of renewal. At any time during your subscription you may delete or change your credit-card data in My Account. Deleting your credit-card data cancels the next automatic renewal of your subscription. If your membership is scheduled for autorenewal but your credit card has expired, for your convenience we will try to process your autorenewal with a future expiration date.
SECURITY OF CREDIT-CARD DATA. To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we apply physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the data we collect online. All credit-card information is stored in an encrypted format in a password-protected database. All transactions to or from myStockOptions.com which include credit-card information are protected with industry-standard SSL 128-bit encryption.
LOG FILES. We use email and IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, track users' movements, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.
SHARING. We will share aggregated demographic information with our partners and advertisers. Understandably, they will probably want to know about the demographics of our registered users. This is group data about the broad characteristics of our users. This is not linked to any personal information that can identify any individual person.
We may partner with another party to provide specific services. If so, we will ask you whether or not you want to sign up for such services. If you choose to sign up for any new services, we may ask you to let us provide our partner with your name or other contact information that is necessary for that partner to provide the services. We will not allow any third party to use personally identifiable information except for the purpose of providing these services.
LINKS. This site contains links to other sites. Please be aware that myStockOptions.com is not and never can be responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage you to be aware when you leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each website that collects personally identifiable information. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by this site.
SURVEYS AND CONTESTS. From time to time, our site may request information from you via surveys or contests. Participation in these is completely voluntary, and you therefore have a choice of whether or not to disclose this information. Information requested may include contact data (such as name and shipping address) and demographic data (such as ZIP code and age). Contact information will be used to notify winners and award prizes. Survey information will be used for purposes of monitoring or improving the use and satisfaction of this site.
SITE AND SERVICE UPDATES. We may also send you site and service updates. You can choose not to receive service announcements, which contain important information about our service. We may communicate with you via email to provide requested services and to address issues that relate to your account.
CORRECTION/UPDATING OF PERSONAL INFORMATION. If your or your clients' personally identifiable information changes, or if you no longer desire some of our services, we provide a way to correct, update, or remove your personal data and/or your clients' personal data by using the myAccount page (for you) and the myClients page (for any clients you track and model for in an MSO Pro Membership). If you have already registered but want to be removed completely from our database, please email email@example.com.
CHOICE/OPT-OUT. At registration, you will see a prominent box to uncheck if you do not wish to receive our email newsletters on equity compensation and our email reports on additions and updates to myStockOptions.com. We reserve the right to send registered users email that promotes the business and mission of myStockOptions.com, including subscription offers, renewal reminders, and notices about new content and features that are integral to your use of your membership.
