The goal of myStockOptions.com is to help you or your clients profit from stock options, employee stock purchase plans (ESPPs), restricted stock, restricted stock units (RSUs), performance shares, and stock appreciation rights (SARs). We offer content, calculators, and community that can make you smarter about the financial planning, tax, and legal issues that surround equity compensation.

Our site is updated every business day.

Our independent publication draws on the expertise of financial advisors, tax lawyers, former SEC officials, trainers, and HR professionals to offer unbiased content and dynamic features that will help answer both your basic and your most complex questions. Our site is updated for developments that affect your stock compensation, focusing on a range of topics to help you maximize its value and prevent mistakes. You can expect our content to be timely and accurate.

Award-Winning Content & Tools

We constantly add to and enhance our award-winning content and tools. Our newest special features include:

Three Levels Of Access

We offer three levels of access to myStockOptions.com: free basic registration, paid Premium Membership, and paid Pro Membership. (See also a list of who subscribes to our paid memberships.)

We also offer corporate services and services for stock plan providers and financial advisors.

We continue to add features according to user feedback and market demand. We also remain committed to keeping certain resources free, including the basic features of myRecords, most of our content on job termination, our extensive glossary, and other selected articles and FAQs.

Tradition Of Excellence And Awards

In June 2000 we launched the first version of myStockOptions.com to much excitement and fanfare. Recently we developed an improved version with many enhancements. Although equity compensation remains a wonderful long-term wealth-building benefit for middle-income employees, the world of stock options, restricted stock, and ESPPs has changed. Fortunately, our commitment to independent content, intuitive tools, design excellence, and your financial success has not wavered.

"The first place to turn for news, advice, calculators and resources to manage just about any kind of compensation your company can throw at you, from stock options and employee stock-purchase plans to pre-IPO stock and restricted stock."
San Jose Mercury News

We have received glowing reviews from users and publications that range from the San Francisco Chronicle to Money magazine. We are proud of being ranked among the HR Products of the Year by Human Resource Executive and among "the most useful sites ever" by PC World.

Why We Charge For Full Access

When we launched, back in 2000, everything on the internet was free. Attracting eyeballs for advertising drove online business strategy, and our whole universe of educational content and tools was free to registered users. Along with all our enhancements, however, came the time to change the business model of our public site. Now our revenue comes from licensing our award-winning content and tools to companies and stock plan providers and from building custom websites for companies.

Free access to all of our content and tools on the public site undermined the value of a corporate license. One conversation in particular made this point clear. In April 2002 I had discussions with Northern Trust in Chicago about licensing our content to build into its website for wealthy clients. One of the key decision-makers, with his Midwestern common sense, asked: "Why don't we just tell our clients to visit your public site and get much of the same content that we would license?"

Though I explained the value of building our content into his site instead of just linking to myStockOptions.com, that conversation reinforced the need to change the model of our public site to help our business grow. We proudly report that our online publishing company had its best year in 2006, with healthy growth in corporate services, licenses to stock plan service providers, and Premium Memberships.

MSO Pro Membership

Responding to the special requirements of financial and wealth advisors, in 2006 we launched a new subscription level called MSO Pro. This membership allows tracking and modeling for 5, 10, 25, or more clients in our record-keeper and tools, an ability that financial planners have been asking us about for a long time. Advisors can also use our client portal myCompanyStock.com and our myAlerts email notices to help their client communications and relationship-building.

Become A Member

We hope you will register for free basic membership or even subscribe to either Premium Membership or Pro Membership, getting full access to all of our content and tools. Substantial discounts are available for licensing, custom websites, and bulk subscriptions (special rates start at $756 for five users). You may explore our various licensing and customization options here.

Whether you choose basic access, Premium Membership, or Pro Membership, please join us. Our expertise and features will help you better appreciate and manage stock options, employee stock purchase plans, restricted stock/RSUs, performance shares, and SARs.
