Peter Romeo

Peter Romeo is a partner in the Washington, DC, office of Hogan & Hartson and an attorney. He worked at the Securities and Exchange Commission in various legal capacities. While serving as Chief Counsel of the SEC’s Division of Corporation Finance, he was primarily responsible for the agency’s administration of Section 16. Peter writes and lectures frequently on Section 16 and other topics, and has served as Chairman of the American Bar Association’s Task Force on Section 16 Developments.

Peter is the co-author with Alan Dye of various publications dealing with Section 16 (the SEC restrictions on executives' and directors' company stock transactions), including the Section 16 Forms and Filings Handbook (2000), the Section 16 Treatise and Reporting Guide (1994), and the Section 16 Updates newsletter. Peter also writes the annual Comprehensive Section 16 Outline. He received his BS degree from Georgetown University and his JD and LLM degrees from George Washington University. He is a member of the District of Columbia and Virginia bars and also serves as a member of the National Association of Stock Plan Professionals Advisory Board.
