If you are convinced that you have been treated unfairly, speak to the person you would contact if you were unhappy with a bonus or a raise. Do your homework first. Try to ascertain whether others at your pay and performance level have actually received bigger grants. If you take a smart and reasonable approach, your company might be willing to disclose how you fared relative to your colleagues. In certain circumstances, employers are willing to grant additional options and/or RSUs in a manner that is consistent with their grant guidelines.
