Net Share Transaction

A transaction in which the company withholds shares to cover the taxes, as in the vesting of restricted stock or RSUs or with SAR exercises, and then distributes the net amount to you. This is also called share surrender, share withholding, net share issuance, or net settlement. Net options exercises are also a form of a net share transaction.
