A
Attestation

An affidavit or declaration of share ownership by which you exercise an option in a stock swap. If your company permits it, this declaration lets you avoid delivering a physical stock certificate for the shares used to exercise the option. Instead, you receive from your company the number of shares, which, combined with the number in your declaration, equals the number of net shares you would ultimately own if you had physically swapped your pre-own stock.
