Expiration Date

The last date on which a derivative security such as an employee stock option can be exercised or converted to the underlying securities. It is important to keep track of this date. If you do not exercise your stock options under the methods and procedures of your stock plan by the expiration date of your grant, you will forfeit the stock options in that grant. For details, see the content on this website in Basics: Exercise and Job Events: Termination.
