Accounting Standards Update (ASU)
An amendment made by the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) to a part of its Accounting Standards Codification (ASC), i.e. the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) of the United States. After initial approval by the FASB, an ASU is issued in an exposure draft, which solicits public comments on the proposed amendment.
