Accounting Standards Codification (ASC)
The authoritative source of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in the United States. The ASC is developed, updated, and maintained by the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB). One of the major sets of ASC principles that apply to equity compensation is ASC Topic 718, which requires the corporate expensing of stock compensation.
