Plain-Vanilla Stock Options
An informal term for employee stock options that conform to the most common archetype of option grants and have no unusual features. Plain-vanilla options are typically nonqualified stock options with time-based vesting, an exercise price based on the stock price on the grant date, and a ten-year term.
