Section 409A Valuation
Appraisal of private company stock to determine its fair market value using various reasonable methods allowed by IRS regulations under Section 409A of the Internal Revenue Code. This appraisal, which then sets the exercise price for the options, is good for 12 months unless there is a material event. (See the FAQ on discounted stock options.)
