A feature in a stock plan that each year automatically authorizes more shares available for grants, usually expressed as a percentage of total outstanding shares (e.g. 1.5% of outstanding shares added each year to the grant pool). Most company stock plans have fixed-share pools that specify the number of total shares that are available for granting.
