International Equity Comp: Germany Increases Key Equity Comp Tax Exemption
Employees in Germany get a tax exemption on income from stock options, RSUs, or an ESPP as long as the same equity award is offered to all of the company's employees in Germany who have worked at the company for at least one year. In 2021, this exemption rose significantly to €1,440, effective from the start of 2021. The prior exemption amount was €360.
